I sat down with Jay Meldrum from Swing Cave Golf and we talked about how he turned a single-bay golf simulator into a highly profitable membership business. We broke down the economics of the business, including how he hit break even in just 3 months, why the model only needs around 40 members to work, and how the business now runs with very little day-to-day involvement. We also talked about pricing strategy, scaling to multiple locations, finding the right real estate deal, and why golf simulators might be one of the most underrated semi-passive businesses right now. Jay also shared what he learned leaving corporate America and getting back into entrepreneurship after nearly 30 years.
